About the institution

A registered society working for the socio-economic and educational development of rural Rajasthan.

The institution

KGI, Singnor is established in the memory of Late Smt. Kesar Devi Godara (1924–1997) in order to fulfil her nurtured dream. The institution has been registered under the Rajasthan Society Registration Act, 1958.

KGI is governed by a governing body constituted of fifteen members from various sections of society. The main mission of KGI is the socio-economic and educational development of the masses, with a vision of “social welfare in all aspects of life for the society in general” — making people able to take active participation in health, education and self-governance, so as to eliminate inequalities.

The main emphasis of KGI is to educate people in such a way that they could be empowered to seek a fruitful livelihood for themselves, and can protect their rights to live a life of dignity and self-esteem.

What we stand for

Our aspirations

The objects for which the institution works, as laid down in its constitution.

Social welfare, unity and equality

To work for social welfare, social unity and equality, and for the economic well-being of the masses in general and the deprived sections of society in particular.

Empowerment of women and children

Economic and social empowerment of women and children; eradication of social evils such as the dowry system, child marriage and female foeticide; establishing Women Help Centres and hostels for working and non-working women; and working against discrimination and violence against women and girls by making them aware of their legal rights and the Domestic Violence Act.

Quality education for rural children

Establishing schools and academic institutions that impart quality education, narrowing the gap between urban and rural education by providing a national-level curriculum and computer education to students in relatively backward areas.

Public health, sanitation and sport

Improvement of public health and sanitation, spreading family welfare awareness, and developing sportsman spirit through programmes and sporting events that infuse courage, inculcate moral values and build pride in our country and heritage.

Training rural youth and women

Training rural youth — especially women — for social transformation and economic development, and promoting rural income-generating occupations such as dairy and poultry.

Vocational training and the environment

Vocational training for the unemployed, and enhancing people’s awareness about environmental degradation.
